MERCH (Medical Education and Research Abroad) is an activity held by SCOPE and SCORE CIMSA FK UIN SH. This activity was held to promote and introduce medical education and medical research abroad by sharing and talkshow with our lecturers who had done studying abroad. This activity was intended for students of Faculty of Medicine UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to promote exchange facilitated by SCOPE and SCORE. We wanted to increase the number of our outgoing applicants thus we held this activity.

The activity started with forewords from our project officer, local coordinator of CIMSA FK UIN SH, and from our vice dean who was one of the speakers in this activity, dr. Flori Ratna Sari, Ph.D. She said that exchange is important to both the student and the faculty because the student could get more experience from exchange and the faculty could get more points for accreditation purpose. She also said that SCOPE and SCORE CIMSA FK UIN SH had contributed to the re-accreditation of the faculty.

After that, the sharing session started. On the sharing session, one of our speakers, dr. Nurul Hiedayati, Ph.D gave the audience a brief explanation and story about her study at Japan. She told us about how she got there and her experience on her doctoral study and life at Japan. She also gave us her insight about whether we want to do something or not. First, do we want it? Second, can we do it? and lastly, is it useful for us? The audience were very enthusiastic.

The next session was talkshow. We invited dr. Flori Ratna Sari, Ph.D., dr. Nurul Hiedayati, Ph.D., and dr. Risahmawati, Ph.D. This talkshow was moderated by one of our member. The speakers told the audience on how they got the chance to study abroad. They also told us the hardships they went through when they studied abroad. After the talkshow ended. The activity also came to an end. We hope the activity brought out the curiosity from the audience about studying abroad so we could get more outgoing applicants in the future.
