On the 11th of November, SCOPE CIMSA UPH held training for its second and first-year member students called Pre-Incoming Arrival Training (PIIT), which is mandatory for all members of SCOPE CIMSA from SCOPE National and 3E: Early Exposure to Exchange.
PIIT trains our members on the right steps in accepting incomings given by our Local Exchange Officer for Incoming, Raden Ayu Sarah Nathania Raissa. While 3E gave our members an overview on IFMSA and SCOPE Exchange Program given by this year’s Local Exchange Officer for Outgoing, Clauvinna Adhityana Lie Fisca. The main purpose of this event is to help our members get familiarized with the rules and regulations in exchanges and the terms in the IFMSA website.
During PIIT, our LEO for Incoming shared the basic outline on what to do before, during, and after the incoming has come to our very own Universitas Pelita Harapan and told the members her experiences and the tips and tricks on accepting incomings last summer. With that being said, she also shared some of the mandatory activities that SCOPE has to hold in order to welcome these students and all the information about which visa they should use and what they should submit to receive their certificate.
On the other hand, in 3E, our LEO for Outgoing shared the vital paperwork that needs to be forwarded to SCOPE CIMSA National before the exchange and the basic rules and regulations. It also covered necessary information such as the paper works and technicalities regarding the exchange. After each session, we had a question-and-answer session for the members to ask about the things they couldn’t quite grasp or understand.
All in all, SCOPE members had a fantastic time attending this project and have agreed that they have gained tons of information on exchanges in general. With this activity, one of CIMSA Program: Health Systems, has been fulfilled as we empower medical students by exposing them to opportunities such as our professional exchange program.
