Our University
Universitas Andalas is the oldest university outside of Java Island and the fourth oldest university in Indonesia, making it one of the major public institutions in Indonesia. Universitas Andalas is known for its excellence in social sciences and medical programs and has produced numerous distinguished alumni over the years. The Faculty of Medicine is located in Limau Manis and has two leading hospitals, M. Djamil Center General Hospital and Andalas University General Hospital.
Our Hospital
Dr. M. Djamil Central General Hospital was built in 1953 as the main hospital for all West Sumatra. This hospital serves as a government hospital and a teaching hospital. The name was originally from a doctor who was a former governor in West Sumatra.
